3:02 p.m.
I've finally recovered from Saturday night. And what a smashing time I had (and think everyone had).
A wine and cheese party with people you love and don't even know works well. It's not like you can't find something to talk about: wine and cheese. Of course, one's not limited to just that.
I must keep a few things in mind, if I ever decide to attend/host a wine and cheese party:
1. Rest.
Amanda and I agreed that we were going to have a quick nap before people started to arrive. We got distracted by a hockey game and started drinking.
2. Wine consumption.
It's not a good idea to drink a few glasses of wine before your guests arrive. Sure, it's not a bad idea, but if you plan to stay awake whilst your guest mingle and not pass out on your boyfriend's bed (beside him, of course) stay away from the vino. (perhaps we should've started the party earlier?)
3. Food.
I ate a sandwich before people came over so I wasn't overly hungry to eat the $130 worth of cheese we spent. Of course it's better, also, to eat regular meals through out the day rather than ingesting all your calories at night (well, frankly, those calories will simply come back out later in the evening).
4. Water.
In theory, it's always good to drink water before you go to bed. I say in theory because I usually am not in the mind frame to think 'hey, i better rehydrate myself'. Instead, it's like: 'oh, i can have another glass of wine' or 'gawd, where's my bed!?'
It was a fantabulous time. Thanks to Manda, Matt, (Jordan/Ryan) for making it happen.
I never did find out why there were cheese slices stuck on the ceiling.
And, Matt counted 30 bottles of wine. I think there was roughly 30 people there, and I know not everyone was drinking wine. That's consumption or what!?
