8:30 p.m. This Friday I start my new job. Sort of. I'm attending a Laps for Lungs event in some small town to see how it's run/organized.

Then, next Friday I'm running the event in Mount Forest! Talk about head on training!

When I found this info out, via voice message, I laughed. Marj: "So, nat, I'm sending you to so and so place to 'participate' in the Laps for Lungs this Friday. It'll be good experience. Oh yeah, you're going to run the same event next Friday in Mount Forest."

Awesome.I've heard of Mount Forest, I have no idea where it is.

Ever since I've learned about my new position, I've been reading the local paper's business section. I'm trying to familiarize myself with the local businesses. The past week, anything and everything volunteering related has caught my eye. Not necessarily good news, either.

For example, one article talked about the decline of active volunteers. People are more likely to donate money, which isn't all bad, rather than time. The decline nationally is something like %20.

Yikes!

Then, I though, shit, I should be volunteering. Granted, I'm working for a non-profit organization, but I should practise what I preach, yes?
I think I may look into a literacy group or something. Tutoring?

I should've looked into coaching soccer, but it's too late for that as the season has already started.

I'm playing ultimate frisbee this summer for with a team that's hardly organized. The captain doesn't know when the league starts. I'm a little embarassed because I tried to recruit a girl friend but when she asked some basic questions about the team, I had no answer. I dunno. I still don't know. Should be an interesting summer. If it starts...

Final day tomorrow - the career at BH finale. Had a pleasant day today: lots of hugs and good wishes. My boss gave me a bottle of wine and a client gave me flowers. Certainly a good way to close that chapter.
