6:40 p.m. I finally got a response from WorldTeach.

Verdict?

The Waiting List.

I'm neutral about this and I'm using it as a sign. Or so I think. Maybe I'm not ready for a stint like this?

Of course I questioned why I'm not qualified. The letter stated that the people that applied have Pacific coast training (which I believe is a crock since "no experience" is necessary). Funny.
I feel like I'm experiencing deja vu. Oh wait. It's because I've been through this before. In fact, it was also for a teaching/academic position - teaching ESL at Seneca College.

I thought I nailed the interview and was sadden when I saw 'no' in Access.

Against UW's guide, I emailed the interviewer. I was determine to 'acquire' whatever I was lacking. I wrote a brief, articulate email stating that I was disappointed with the results but wanted to find out what I could do to improve. He wrote back stating that the other interviewers had more experience and encouraged me to reapply the second round. He also praised my tenacity.

And it worked. I thought I'd have to go into the Continuous phase but I got a call a week before saying that I had the tutoring job if I hadn't already accepted another position.

But this is how it works...I earn things the hard way (not that I'm complaining); I'm an underdog of sorts, I suppose. I like it that way. I think it keeps me realistic. I never 'wow' people off the bat - I kinda warm up to them. It'll never change...
